OPERATIONS OF ILLEGAL CHAINSAW OPERATORS, MAJOR CAUSE TO OUR RIVER AND WATER BODIES: FORESTRY COMMISSION Adansi South District Magistrate Court in the Ashanti Region has fined three(3) illegal chainsaw operators ghc3,000 each for invading Nuem-Bepo forest reserve without license. The Suspects Yaw Antobam, Frank Andam and Kwame Baffuor together with four(4) others who are on the run on 26th February 2018, invaded Nuem-Bepo forest reserve around pillar 21-23 and cut down 13trees without the consent of the forestry commission. Narrating the incidence to the media, Adansi South District forestry commission Manager Mr. Lawrence Fosu said his outfit received a tip-off that some people have invaded their forest and as a result followed up with their taskforce and apprehended three(3) suspects and seized four chainsaw machines together with one Monkey Jack machine that used to turned the tree when cutting.
