Asante Kotoko has dismissed reports claiming coach Paa Kwesi Fabin has quit the club. According to reports in the local media, the former U-17 coach had stepped down due to the club’s poor form in this season’s Ghana Premier League. After 11 matchdays,they find themselves 10th on the standings six points behind leaders AshantiGold. However, the club insists Fabin is still at post and will be in the dugout when they welcome Bechem United to the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday. They posted on their official Twitter page: ”NO CHANGES! Veep Launches Mobile Money Interoperability Next Week

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is set to launch the mobile money interoperability system next week. This means it will be possible from next week to send mobile money from one mobile phone network to another seamlessly when the mobile money interoperability is launched. The launch to be performed by the Vice President will come as a major relief as sending money across networkshas been a major challenge to many. The mobile money interoperability is however only the first phase of a bigger project that will ensure that the public can also transfer funds from their bank accounts tomobile money networks as well as to e-zwich cards and vice versa in what is being termed the Financial Inclusion Triangle. Asiedu Nketia descends on Gov’t over NABCO

General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has lauded government for the Nation Builders Corps policy.But, he is worried about the implementation of the policy. The Nation Builders Corps (NaBCo) is a government initiative aimed at addressing graduate unemployment in Ghana. The programme was launched by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on May 1, 2018. Central to its objectives is to engage the raw talents of unemployed graduates and equip them with skills through a process of value addition and training. The scheme will this year employ 100,000 graduates under seven modules, namely; Educate Ghana, Heal Ghana, Feed Ghana, Revenue Ghana, Digitize Ghana, CivicGhana and Enterprise Ghana. Placement in the NaBCo will last for a period of 3 years under a stipend of GH¢700 every month. The NaBCo is opened to all Ghanaians who have discharged their national service obligations. “Govt To Spend GH¢453m Oil Money On Free SHS This Year”- Minister Hinted

The government will spend GH¢453 million ($103m) of the country’s oil revenue to fund the free senior high school programme this year. The amount is more than twice the figure it spent on the programme, one of its major flagships, last year, having doled out GH¢198 million ($45m) in 2017. The Board Chairman of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Hackman Owusu-Agyeman, has said the agitations by staff for his removal is largely because he has been very strong on reforming the state-owned cocoa firm. According to him, the workers who are opposing his transformational agenda due to their desire not change their attitudes want him removed. During the May Day celebrations in Kumasi, a section of Cocobod workers wielded placards calling for the Board Chair’s removal. They accused Mr Owusu-Agyeman of usurping the authority of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Joseph Boahen Aidoo. Besides, the workers say Mr Owusu-Agyeman does not listen to their concerns and does not have their interest at heart. NDC Suffering From “NABCo phobia” – Kweku Baako

Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has become uncomfortable and troubled following the launch of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo). The NDC has expressed its opposition to government’s plan to hire 100,000 unemployed graduates as part of NABCo.The largest opposition party has said the government program ‘Nation Builders Corps’ (NABCo) offers no new plan to create jobs but a duplication of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA). It has also said the GHS700 salary for the employees ridicules the value of a tertiary level certificate.
