Over 700 residents of Tlawa; a deprived rural community in Lower Manya Krobo in the Eastern Region, have safe drinking water for the first time after several decades of depending on worm-infested and dehumanizing sources of drinking water. The water facility, a modernised hand pump well, was constructed by Kloma Hengme; the Krobo Advocacy & Heritage association, under their pro-poor socialist intervention initiative ”The Kloma Hengme Clean Water Initiative (KH-CWI). It is estimated that the water facility will serve over 700 inhabitants of the Tlawa community. COMMENDATION At a mini durbar on Sunday July 22, 2018, to hand over the facility to the rural community, the MCE for Lower Manya Krobo; Hon Simon Kweku Tetteh, who delivered the key note address, had commended the association for coming to the aid of the deprived rural community.
