4 feared dead as tipper truck crashes into ambulance At least four people are feared dead in an accident involving an ambulance and a truck at Beahu, a community in the Ahanta West District of the Western region. The truck with registration number GT 7348-15 believed to be heading towards Nsuta for Manganese rammed into the ambulance numbered GV 1453-14 and traveling from Axim to Takoradi. The ambulance had six passengers on board. Two of the passengers who survived the accident are being treated in a nearby health facility. 3 arrested in Kasoa for supplying weapons to criminals Mawuli Adokokye, 28, Obed Wood, 37 and Jeffrey Tetteh, 38 are the suspects Three men have been arrested by the Kasoa Divisional Police Command for allegedly trading in weapons, and hiring same to criminals in Kasoa and elsewhere for robbery and other criminal activities. The suspects, Mawuli Adokokye, 28, Obed Wood, 37 and Jeffrey Tetteh, 38, are currently in the custody of the Kasoa Police, awaiting prosecution. Speaking to journalists on Thursday after the arrest, the Kasoa Divisional Commander of Police, ACP Dennis Akob-Dem Abade, noted that, “On the 23rd of January this year [2018], information got to the police revealing that some people had weapons, and were looking for prospective buyers, and based upon this information, we put our intelligence team on the ground to find out where this is going on”. Mahama paid $300,000 for Gitmo It is turning out that the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) government was paid over $300,000 for accepting to host the two alleged hardcore terrorists from Yemen who were deported from the United States Naval Base of Guantanamo Bay on the orders of former US President Barack Obama and his government. The amount was meant for the upkeep of the two alleged Al-Qaeda terrorists: Mahmud Umar Muhammad Bin Atef and Khalid Muhammad Salih Al-Dhuby as they stay in Ghana. However, it has now been made clear that the amount paid was to cover the two for only two years and that any subsequent debt incurred over their upkeep (after the two years) is going to be borne by the Ghanaian taxpayer.
