Fight Against HIV: AIDS Commission Introduces Test And Treat Policy

Ghana is now implementing the test and treat policy which is aimed at testing and treating persons diagnosed with HIV instantly at the health facility to ensure that all HIV persons are enrolled unto the antiretroviral medication treatment. The test and treat policy that became operational in 2017 would also help bridge the gap of missing people who testfor HIV positive at health facilities and centres but refuse to go back for follow-ups, and to start treatment immediately. The test and treat policy which also served as a guideline was to help officials to enrol people quickly onto the antiretroviral treatment. Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC) officials said that waiting period before putting on medication gave room for some persons diagnosed with the virus to either escape the treatment or go hiding and only come back with serious implications. “African Leaders Must Seek Peace, Prosperity” – President Akufo-Addo

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has urged the next generation of African leaders to seek peace and prosperity for the long suffering masses on the African continent. According to President Akufo-Addo, “If we are going to build prosperous countries, we should have peace, and those who would lead Africa must seek and cherish peace.” The President made this known when he delivered the keynote address at the 27th Africa Peace Leadership Awards, organised by the Centre for African Peace and Conflict Resolution of the California State University, Sacramento, on Saturday, 28th April, 2018. Popular Ghanaian football star, Asamoah Gyan has been spotted in a latest video jamming to Ebony’s hit track, Maame Hw3 in remembrance of the artiste. The Black Star’s skipper is noted for his hilarious dance moves as well as his high sense of humor. The footballer is one of the Ghanaian celebrities who has been hit hard by the sudden demise of the talented dancehall artiste. Asamoah Gyan for the past days has been spotted pouring out a number of tributes in remembrance of the influential singer. The footballer who seems to be celebrating Ebony’s great works, has released yet another video jamming to one of her hit tracks.
