Hon Ntim Fordjour Donates Furniture to Basic Schools in Assin South

Rev John Ntim Fordjour, MP for Assin South on Thursday 26th July 2018, donated 300 dual desks and 40 teachers furniture to ensure that the over 1,500 pupils in Assin Ochiso D/A Basic School and Assin Kruwa D/A Basic School, all have decent and comfortable seats for teaching and learning. This is part of the vision of Hon Ntim Fordjour to ensure that every child in the constituency receives basic education and studies under congenial conditions. He was accompanied by the District Director of Education, Mr Stephen Abamfo. The Chiefs, teachers and parents expressed profound gratitude for the kind gesture by the MP. The pupils with excitement gathered around the MP each wanting a handshake to say thank you. TV licence: GBC plans to deduct levies from public workers salaries at source GBC Director-General, Dr Annor Akufo Ntow The controversial television licence fee may be deducted from the salaries of public workers at source as the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) considers more ‘decent’ way of collection, it has emerged. According to the Ashanti Regional Director of the GBC, Mr Samuel Kwatia, the move to deduct the fee at the Controller and Accountant Generals Department (CAGD) would make it more convenient for public service workers. There has been a raging debate over the collection of TV licences by the state broadcaster, Ghana Television (GTV) for sometime now.
