ELECTION 2020: “Mahama Will Jeopardise NDC’s Chances” – Political Analyst Criticized

A political science lecturer has warned the National Democratic Congress will jeopardise its chances of winning the 2020 elections should it elect former president John Mahama as its flagbearer. In the analysis of Dr. Osei Bonsu of the Methodist University, nothing has changed from the events and factors that led to the “miserable” defeat of Mahama in the 2016 presidential election for him to make a comeback. Even though Mahama has since losing the election remained tight-lipped over calls by some party members for him to declare to once again run for the party’s flagbearership, he on Saturday responded favourably to the calls.“To you the teeming supporters and sympathizers calling and requesting me to declare my intentions for the future, I wish to assure you today, that as a servant-leader, I have listened to your calls and reflected. “I will not disappoint you even as we await the publication of the party’s guidelines for selecting a new leader,” he indirectly declared to contest...

The zeal and determination of the average sympathizer ofour great party is greater and miles ahead of what it was after the December 2016 Elections. We need to keep up with the momentum generated and follow the published timelines. To you the teeming supporters and sympathizers calling and requesting me to declare my intentions for the future, I wish to assure you today, that as a servant-leader, I have l...

ELECTION 2020 : “We have the ability to capture more than 50 seats back from the NPP”- Mahama

The main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is coming back into power in 2020, former President John Mahama has said. Although he is yet to declare his political future, Mr Mahama told the NDC’s maiden Conference of Ex-MMDCEs on Saturday that with their help at the grassroots level, the party would surely return to the reins of government after the 2020 elections. “We count on you to help us at the lower level, the grassroots level to make sure that things go very well”, Mr Mahama charged the ex-MMDCes, adding: “We have the ability to capture more than 50 seats back from the NPP in the next elections if we handle ourselves well and if we’re to handle ourselves well and make this reorganisation effective, then you cannot exclude the role of DCEs at the grassroots level and I’m sure that with the zeal and the passion that I’ve seen in you today, nothing makes me doubt that by the grace of God, Insha Allah, we’ll win 2020 and come back into government”. If he decides to run ...

“I Am Saddened By Nepotism In NPP Government” – Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed his disappointment in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for promoting nepotism in its administration. Delivering his speech at the maiden National Conference of Ex-MMDCES on Saturday, May 12, 2018, Mr. Mahama stated that the failure of the NPP government to create equal opportunities for all Ghanaians destroys the spirit ofoneness. “One of the things that I feel sad about is a certain tendency that is destroying the spirit of national integration and unity. We might belong to different political parties but we are Ghanaians first and foremost, and the opportunities of this country should open up to all Ghanaians. “This is why President Mills had the mantra ‘father for all’.It meant that he was president of all Ghanaians and so allGhanaians should enjoy all opportunities. During our administration, we as much as possible ensured that the opportunities were open to everybody. So NDC businessmen were working, NPP businessmen we...

NDC 2020:”Atubiga’s declaration brings comic relief”- Yaw Boateng Gyan

Former National Organiser of the leading opposition party National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan has kicked against Stephen Atubiga’s decision to contest in the flag bearership race of NDC and has described it as a joke. According to the former organiser, his decision brings “comic relief to Ghanaians.”So far, apart from Mr Atubiga, about four other leading members of the NDC have launched their bid to contest in the race. They are former Majority Leader of Parliament, Alban Bagbin; former Rector of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof Joshua Alabi; Ekow Spio-Garbrah, former Minister of Trade and Industry; and Mr Sylvester Mensah, former Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA). “Stop Crucifying Fmr. Appointees and Transform The Country” – Mahama bashes Govt.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has taken a swipe at the governing New Patriotic Party urging the government to focus on transforming the country instead of baselessly crucifying former appointees in the media. According to him, if the government has evidence of corruption against any of the former appointees, they should use due process and pursue them in court instead of using what he described as “media trial.” “This trial by newspaper affects the credibility of the government. If you hear that several sums of money have gone missing yet no one has been arrested for prosecution, then you are destroying the confidence of people in the credibility of the government. So the trial by media must stop,” he said. Ever since the NPP assumed office, the government has accused some former officials of the Mahama administration of causing financial loss to the state.Somegovernment communicators recently said the Tema Oil Refinery could not account for an amount of GHc150 billion from i...

“Stop Chasing Illegal Miners With Soldiers” – Mahama warns Govt

“BRING BACK NDC, AND YOU WILL GO BACK TO WORK,” ~ MAHAMA URGES GALAMSEYERS

The desperation to come back tomorrow power is the enzyme behind former President John Dramani Mahama’s call on illegal mining operators to vote the NDC back to power so that it would be their passport to returning to their work as miners. According to the former President, the NPP promised to allow galamseyers to continue with their operations, but the opposite is what has been fed them when the party was voted for by Ghanaians, including those in the galamsey business. “They deceived you into voting for them. Now that they have power, they tell you you don’t deserve to eat anymore and have starved you of your livelihood. All you need to do is to vote them out of office in 2020, and I promise you that you will go back to work. Bring back NDC to power and you will go back to do your mining” former President Mahama assured them. The above comments were made by the ex-President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama at the NDC’s unity walk event held in Kumasi on Saturday, 28th day of A...

“Do not rely on politicians”- Ibrahim Mahama tells graduate students

The brother of former President John Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama, has said he has no fear of being prosecuted by the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu. He also rubbished suggestions that his brother’s presidency contributed to his success in businesses. Speaking to graduate students of the University of Ghana on how to become successful entrepreneurs atthe 2018 GRASSAG Entrepreneurship Seminar, the founder of Engineers and Planners advised the youth to work hard instead of relying on politicians. He added that he had earned his wealth long before John Mahama first contested an election to become a Member of Parliament in 1996. “I want to set the record straight that I was who I was; I was successful. That’s why I can chop my money without looking back and thinking that Amidu is coming to call me. And that is the confidence I do have”, He stressed “I don’t go anyplace fearing my shadow, running away from my shadow. When I started business John Mahama hadn’t even picked up his forms to be...
