Murdered journalist was stabbed multiple times to her death-Investigation reveals

The late Dess FM presenter, Portia Amma AgyeiwaaaIt has emerged that Bekwai-based journalist who was killed by unknown assailant, was stabbed multiple times, leading to her death. Portia Amma Agyeiwaaa of Dess FM was found in a pool of blood in front of her Bentil house room at Nyameduasi, a suburb of Asante-Bekwai after allegedly being stabbed on Sunday evening. Preliminary police investigations revealed the deceased was stabbed in the chest, thigh and in the left arm with a sharp object. “There has been some stabbing; some around the chest region, somewhere in the thigh and somewhere in the left or right arm as well,” ASP Juliana Obeng who speaks for police in Ashanti Region said. The deceased, according to police also struggled with her assailant, forcing a television set which had been mounted on the wall, crushed to the ground after the assailant struggled and overpowered her before stabbing her with an unknown object. Man to be beaten 80 strokes of cane for calling sister-in-law a prostitute

A Sharia court sitting at Magajin Gar, Kaduna state has ordered a man, Shuaibu Umar who called his sister in-law, Suwaiba Abdulkadir a prostitute to receive a judgement of 80 strokes of cane. Suwaiba Abdulkadir filed a case against her brother-in-law, Shuaibu of defamation of character after they had a little misunderstanding. “Shuaibu is my husband’s younger brother and we had a misunderstanding; we exchanged words and he called me a prostitute. “I want this honorable court to grant me justice, as what my brother-in-law said about me has tarnished my image,’’ she said. Shuaibu however agreed calling his sister in law a prostitute and admitted he did it under aggression and thus, have no regret whatsoever for calling her such. “I was hurt when she called me a drug addict and a thief; that was why I called her a prostitute and I won’t go back on my words,’’ he said. Adjeiwaa Kodie was a newscaster at Dess Radio in Bekwai The Ashanti Regional Police Command says it has picked up intelligence that will hopefully lead to the arrest of those who killed a newscaster of Dess FM in Bekwai. The 30-year-old woman, Ama Adjeiwaa Kodie, is believed to have been stabbed to death in her room at Bekwai last Sunday. Interacting with the media, Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, ASP Juliana Obeng said the police are working on some intelligence to apprehend some suspects. “We will move on the lead hoping that latest by [close of today [Tuesday], the command should be able to tell us exactly who the perpetrators of the crime is or are,” ASP Obeng assured Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Chapter of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), in a statement, called on the police to treat this suspected murder as a priority case. “As the police have commenced an investigation into the case, it is the firm belief of GJA that they ...
