It has been reported that a man identified as Aliyu Mohammed, cut off the manhood of his 12-year-old cousin, Farouk Ibrahim, for unknown reasons. The incident reportedly happened in the Babana area of the Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State. It was learnt that Ibrahim was on his way to the farm to deliver food to his siblings, when Mohammed pounced on him. Mohammed, it was learnt, strangled Ibrahim and cut off his penis after the latter had become unconscious. Northern City News gathered that Ibrahim, who was left in the pool of his own blood, regained consciousness nine hours later and managed to go home where he narrated his ordeal to his parents. He was subsequently rushed to a hospital for treatment. Carpenter as fix damaged school furniture for free The Mim Carpenters Association in Asunafo North Municipal of the Brong Ahafo Region has repaired over 1,000 damaged furniture in seven public schools for free. The schools included the Mim SDA basic school, Mom M/A school, Mim Model Basic School Basic Schools among others where pupils were seen to be lying on the floor to write. The Association has been doing this for five months ago and has visited over 45 public schools in the municipality. Mr. Albert Kwasi Adjei, the Chairman of the Association said to Goaso based Success FM the exercise was to make the learning space for the children more comfortable. The completed ultramodern facility will be commissioned on 2nd February 2018, which happens to be his birthday. The building which has already been named after the man known for his philanthropic works comes with: • Paediatric Oncology (Cancer) unit, which comprises; two consulting rooms, a nurses’ reception station and office, a main ward for in-patients, a treatment area, a kitchenette, and five washrooms. • The Paediatric Pysiotherapy unit also has; two consulting rooms, a furnished rehabilitation gymnasium/playroom, three washrooms, a kitchenette and a waiting area. • Also included in this complex are two extra private wards for general paediatric admissions. A man has killed his wife and a two-month-old baby before dying in a fire in Kieni, Nyeri County. David Maina burned himself, his 21-year-old wife and the baby following a family feud. His sister-in-law, who was also in the house at the time of the incident, escaped unhurt. Although the exact cause of the dispute is still unknown, the couple is reported to have had deep marital problems forcing them to separate. The man’s wife, Esther Wanjiku, had moved back to her mother’s house following the wrangles. The couple, who are said to be from Nyahururu, had only lived in Kieni for two months. The man took care of his family by doing casual jobs while Esther was a housewife. A police officer with the Konongo Divisional Taskforce has been detained over the death of his girlfriend. Sergeant Bright Opoku was picked up following the death of Vida Frema, a 30-year-old tutor of the Kumasi Girls’ Senior High School. He has since been transferred to Kumasi after the Regional Police Criminal and Investigations Department have taken over investigations into the matter. The deceased was found hanging on a rope in the suspect’s residence at Konongo Low Cost in the Ashanti Region. Unconfirmed reports say the suspect returned from work to find his girlfriend dead on Monday. Relatives of the deceased however suspect foul play and are calling for justice. A blood stained knife is said to have been found in the corner of the room where the deceased is suspected to have committed suicide.
