“We Will Create Assets For Ghana From Oil Revenues” – President Akufo-Addo

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, says his government is going to use oil revenues to create assets for the country, and not waste it on consumption. According to President Akufo-Addo, as a relatively new entrant in the league of oil-producing countries, Ghana is not going to treat her oil like she has done with gold, and allow it to be exported in its raw material form as crude. Ghana’s oil, President Akufo-Addo explained, presents the country with the perfect opportunity to transform the structure of Ghanaian economy through industrialization and value-added commercial activities. “Our oilfields provide us with the perfect opportunity to create a petrochemical industry in Ghana. The woman who seems ‘untouchable’ in the New PatrioticParty (NPP) says she has no regret for her attack on a journalist at her party’s headquarters last Friday. Hajia Fati who has been nicknamed the ‘Iron lady’ in the NPP told NEAT FM’smorning show host, Mc-Jerry Osei Agyemang that, her action is justifiable but out of respect for the media fraternity “I am sorry”. Hajia Fati reportedly punched a journalist from Accra based Adom FM, Ohemaa Sakyiwaa Ahwenepa at the NPP headquarters on Friday, but said she only took that action because the reporter had not sought her permissionbefore taking pictures of her, neither did she introduce herself as a journalist. Hajia Fati accosted Sammy Crabbe with stones, Stops him From Picking NPP Forms

Suspended Vice Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Sammy Crabbe, has been prevented by Hajia Fati, a known party activist, from picking nomination forms at the party’s national headquarters at Asylum Down, Accra, to enable him contest for the National Chairman position of the party. The incident occurred on Friday, 4 April 2018, as Mr Crabbe, who was suspended in the lead-up to the 2016 general elections, along with then-NPP National ChairmanPaul Afoko and then-General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong, entered the headquarters to pay for his nomination forms with a banker’s draft. NPP Invisible ForcesSome National Security Operatives and alleged Invisible Forces of the NPP are believed to have forcibly taken over the UNDP flats at Cantonments after abusing and assaulting the contractor of the redevelopment project. The contractor of the project is alleged to have been physically assaulted by the two groups bringing the redevelopment project to a total halt. When the Contractor of the project approached them to inquire on whose authority they were carrying outthe activity, they claimed that they were instructed by a top government official at the Ministry of Works and Housing to carry out their work.
