Former National Organiser of the leading opposition party National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan has kicked against Stephen Atubiga’s decision to contest in the flag bearership race of NDC and has described it as a joke. According to the former organiser, his decision brings “comic relief to Ghanaians.”So far, apart from Mr Atubiga, about four other leading members of the NDC have launched their bid to contest in the race. They are former Majority Leader of Parliament, Alban Bagbin; former Rector of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof Joshua Alabi; Ekow Spio-Garbrah, former Minister of Trade and Industry; and Mr Sylvester Mensah, former Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA). 31-year-old man is alleged to have died while having sex with his lover in her house at John Tei, near Accra. The deceased, identified by the police as Divine Kwame Avortri, worked in the pharmacy department of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission Hospital in Accra. His girlfriend, whose name had been withheld by the police, is assisting the police with their investigations. Visit According to the police, Avortri visited his lover last Sunday and the two of them engaged in a bout of sex. While in the act, Avortri is said to have complained of severe headache but before the two could find a solution, he had collapsed. With the help of some neighbours, he was taken to the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
