Ghana’s Under-Development Due To Failed Leadership – Ex-Prez Kufuor

Former President John Kufuor has attributed Ghana’s slow pace of development to failed leadership. Mr. Kufuor believes a mineral-rich country like Ghana should have been better developed than currently is the case. The former president said most of the country’s leaders across sectors are performing poorly because they were forced into those positions. He was speaking at the launch of an endowment fund for the John Agyekum Kufuor Foundation in Accra. The problem of unprepared leaders is not limited to Ghana, it pervasive in much of Africa, he said. But “I don’t blame the leaders because many of them wereforced into leadership positions; they were not prepared;…you cannot give leadership in any sector [to anybody] without they being prepared in terms of knowledge and experience and exposure,” he stressed. The main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is coming back into power in 2020, former President John Mahama has said. If he decides to run ...

Mother’s Day founder regretted inventing the holiday

Mother’s Day means big business for retailers. This year is no different — shoppers will spend an average of $180 per mom. If you hate all of the commercialization behind the day that celebrates moms, imagine how Anna Jarvis would feel now. The holiday’s founder worked so hard to get the world to give moms everywhere a shoutout. But before her death, even she had to admit she had some regrets about starting Mother’s Day. If she were alive now, she’d probably be living her worst nightmare. She just wanted to honor her momLong before her death, Jarvis’ mom Ann Reeves Jarvis hoped someone would dedicate a day to honor mothers. When she died on May 9, 1905, Jarvis set out to do just that. She began campaigning not only for her mom but for moms everywhere. It started off with her hometown of Grafton, West Virginia, which takes credit for hosting the first official Mother’s Day celebration three years later at Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church. Since then, the church has been dubbed the “...

She Stabbed Her Husband As He Raped Her, A Court Sentenced Her To Death

19-year-old Sudanese woman has been sentenced to death for fatally stabbing the man she was forced to marry, who she says raped her as his relatives held her down. The case of Noura Hussein has shone a spotlight on the issues of forced marriage and marital rape in Sudan, where the legal age of marriage is only 10 and marital rape is legal. Hussein’s supporters filled the courtroom in Omdurman, Sudan, and overflowed into the hall outside as the judge announced the death penalty on Thursday. Her husband’sfamily refused an option to pardon her and rejected financial compensation, requesting that she be executed instead. Hussein’s legal team has 15 days to appeal.”She’s still in complete shock after her sentencing today,” Dr. Adil Mohamed Al-Imam, one of Hussein’s lawyers, told CNN. Al-Imam donated his services after Hussein’s original lawyer withdrew from the case. He added that Hussein was abandoned not only by the law, but also by her family. The harrowing details of her case have s...

“I Don’t Own £9.3 Million Building In London” – Akufo Addo’s daughter slams critics

My attention has been drawn to a story published by the website “https://ift.tt/2wI6MEq; titled “Real Estate Collections: London’s Property Market receives it’s new top customer, Gyankroma Akufo-Addo from Ghana at a whopping £9.3m”. This publication is nothing but an outright lie and a total fabrication. I do not own any properties in London or in any part of the world, let alone own a “5 bed Edwardian palatial” building, valued at £9.3 million mansion. It is important to state that this website, purposely built forpublishing falsehoods, is the same website that indicated recently that my father, President Akufo-Addo, was bringing a bill to Parliament to legalise same-sex marriage- another fabrication. Obviously the strategy by political opponents is to bandy more of such baseless stories and falsehoods around, employing the use of fake websites, with the aim of creating disaffection for the President and his administration. I urge the good people of Ghana to ignore this and other...

Kumawood actress Xandy Kamel who revealed that her ex-lover Bill Asamoah is not sexually good in bed in a viral video has made a U-turn.
