Crowned Winners for Ghana Miss 2017
Miss Ghana 2017 – Margaret Derry Mwintuur
Margaret Derry Mwintuur has been awarded the prestigious title of Miss Ghana 2017 in a gliterring ceremony last weekend. Marigold Frimpong and Priscilla Nana Akua Gameli comes in as 2nd runner and 1st runner ups respectively. Margaret will now represent Ghana at Miss World 2018. She will succeed Aphua Akrofi as Miss World Ghana. Aphua was 1st runner-up in Miss Ghana 2015 and has been handpicked to represent Ghana at Miss World 2017 in China next month. The decision was made so as to give the new winner more time to prepare for what will be the most important competition of her life.
Miss Malaika 2017 – Pearl Nyarko
Held at the National theatre last night (November 4), the grand finale of the Miss Malaika beauty pageant, saw 25-year-old Pearl Nyarko emerge as ultimate winner, beating 9 other contestants to annex the throne.
The feat makes Ms. Nyarko, an MPhil candidate at the University of Ghana, the 15th queen since the inception of the competition. She drives home a brand new Renault car among other mouthwatering prizes.
Vanessa Xola Donkor, and Helen Cudjoe Levu came in second and third place respectively. The contest had John Dumelo, Naa Ashorkor, and Becca as judges.
A truly memorable night for many, the event, put together by Charterhouse Ghana, witnessed performances from Kidi, King Promise, Adina and Ebony.
Miss Universe 2017 – Ruth Quarshie
The 23-year-old lady business administration graduate, Ruth Quarshie was crowned Miss Universe 2017 on Saturday at the grand finale which took place at the Labadi beach hotel.
She gave everyone reasons with her communication skills and brilliancy why she had to be the queen. She indeed earned it. She secured for herself a one-year modeling contract with a modeling agency in Italy and not forgetting the brand new luxurious Hyundai Elantra she drove home with.
