The National President of Film Directors Guild of Ghana, Mr Richard Yaw Boateng, and the Greater Accra Regional P.R.O, Mr Ernest Ackom, paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam on Tuesday 27th March 2018.
The meeting was the first of its kind, for a leader in the film industry in Ghana to meet with His Holiness the National Chief Imam. This is unprecedented, in that the National Chief Imam was so happy to have host this filmmakers who visited him with the intention of making him proud.
“The purpose of the visit is to inform the National Chief Imam of my intention to make a feature documentary film to his honour as an icon of PEACE in Ghana”, Mr Boateng intimated.
They discuss how important it is to make a film that establishes the monumental role that the National Chief Imam plays in the sustainability of PEACE in Ghana, as the leader of the Islamic society or community in the country. That his kind and mature relationship with the Christians, especially the leaders of the Christian societies in Ghana, is one of the key reasons why Ghana is enjoying a sustainable PEACE in the country. His leadership is something to praise and appreciate.
At the meeting, the National Chief Imam stated that a committee would be formed to discuss the making of the film, and he thanked Mr Boateng for his kind heart to serve Mother Ghana in this manner, which will become a monumental lesson to the next National Chief Imam who may succeed him and the generation ahead.
