DEMONSTRATION: Irate youth charges Bosofour chief to vacate throne

A group called Concerned Youths of Bosofour Community(CYBC) ,a suburb of Mampong in the Ashanti region have threatened to demonstrate against the Chief of Bosofour Nana Danso Frimping and some other leaders in the Bosofour community following their failure in development.

According to the youth in a press release signed and presented by the president  Mr.Frank K. Boateng(president) the chief Nana Danso Frimpong should humbly vacate the throne to a well competent person since he has exhibited gross incompetent leadership skills which have crippled the development of Bosofour community.

“We can no more afford to have him as a chief because we are suffering from his reckless leadership. We hold a strong view that Nana Frimpong Danso cannot administer the affairs of Bosofour community effectively and so, continue to rule the community will further deepen the misery. We do not want this incompetence and recklessness leadership any more”, they charged

They further added that they are intend to do peaceful demonstration because they see it as the most effective tool in democratic state like Ghana to publicly express our hope, aspiration and disagreement with our leaders and representatives.

“The leadership style of Nana Danso Frimpong is found to be cruel and disrespect to the good people of Bosofour and this has prompted us to stage a peaceful demonstration against him. Since Nana Danso was enstooled in the year 2000, he has shown very little or no concern to the development of Bosofour community. The persistence plea and complaints to the Chief have fallen to his deaf ears. He pays no attention to our grievances. The development of Bosofour community is not part of his business,” they said

The concern group further added that “Being an expatriate Chief, who lives in U.S.A, he often comes home once in a blue moon and pays no attention to the developmental business of the town. He does not even bother to walk in the streets of the town to inspect what is going on. He has since refused to organize town hall meeting to meet the natives of Bosofour any times he returns from US. We do not remember the last time he and his cabinet read the statement of accountability to the natives of Bosofour community and, we see this as an insult, disrespect, cruel and atrocity. We can no more hold fire. It is time to spit fire and keep him on his right toes; as concerned youths.

“He has rather unlawfully engaged in indiscriminate selling of the lands in Bosofour community without the consent of the landlords. The most dangerous issue associated with his leadership which seems to breed tension in the community, if immediate care is not taken is that he has violated his own traditional bye laws which demands that landlords should be giving one-third of a building plot anytime he (Nana Danso) sells one (1) acre of a land. Recently, there was a crash between Antwi Aduana family of Bosofour and Nana Danso Frimpong when the family approached him to demand for their land compensation after he (Nana Danso) has sold their twenty (20) acres of land in six (6) years ago. The step son and daughter of Nana Frimpong took advantage and beat the delegates of Antwi Aduana family”, they statement  revealed

We, the undersigned concerned youths of Bosofour community wish to write to your noble office to notify you about our intention to stage a peaceful demonstration against Nana Danso Frimpong, Bosofour Hene. We are aware of the public order Act-1994 (Act491) which compels any person who desires to hold any special event within the meaning of this Act in any public place to notify the police (5) days prior to the demonstration as the law demands.
We are intend to do peaceful demonstration because we see it as the most effective tool in democratic state like Ghana to publicly express our hope, aspiration and disagreement with our leaders and representatives.

What has broken the Carmels back is that the autocrat Chief has sold the former Bosofour J.H.S school premises and its thirty-five (35) plots to private entity. He promised to use this 150,000 cedis to renovate Bosofour R/C primary school and build Chiefs palace but to date, he has not even cut a sod for these projects.

We see the selling of this public facility as unlawful and illegal; meanwhile, we have petitioned Municipal Chief Executive of Mampong Municipal Assembly (Hon. Thomas Appiah Kubi), the first Gentleman of the land, Bureau of National Investigation (BNI), Lands Commission and Mampong Police Divisional Command to investigate this matter and bring Nana Frimpong Danso to book. We are strictly against selling of this facility and we want the authority to do everything humanly possible to have this illegal selling revoked since the facility belongs to the public.

Our main demands for this peaceful demonstration are:

We want Nana Danso Frimpong to humbly vacate the throne to a well competent person since he has exhibited gross incompetent leadership skills which have crippled the development of Bosofour community. We hold a strong view that Nana Frimpong Danso cannot administer the affairs of Bosofour community effectively and so, continue to rule the community will further deepen the misery. We want Nana Frimpong Danso to read statement of accounts to the natives of Bosofour community before he steps down.

We want Nana Marfowaa Agyakomah, Bosofour Hemaa who has the sole right to enstool chief to give us a new chief as soon as possible.

It is important to note that if Nana Danso fails to heel to our demands after the peaceful demostration, we shall not regard him as a chief of Bosofour again and, this will compel us to take off his garment and sandals in public; hence we shall forcibly destool him. We don’t want to apply Rambo style on him, so we are humbly appealing to him Nana Danso Frimpong to do honorable thing and comply with our calls.

We trust that the stakeholders including Nana Mampong Hene (Nana Daasebre Osei Bonsu), Municipal Chief Executive, Member of Parliament for Mampong constituency and the rest will help to resolve this matter amicably in order to avoid chaos.
