Man, 29, Lynched To Death at Kromoase
Kofi Amoako,29 years old has been lynched to death at Afasiebon in the Atwima kwanwoma district in the Ashanti region.
The deceased who was suspected to has allegedly stolen some items at Afasiebon was caught and lynched to death by an unknown persons at the area on 24 April,2018.
According to some investigations conducted on 25 April,2018.Kofi was allegedly to have been a thief at that night and was allegedly caught in possession of two mobile phones.
Upon reaching this information,a team of journalists, Mr.Alfred Kesse of starmediaghana.com, also a student at Oxford Institute of Business and Journalism and Mr. Kingsley Asare of Gye Nyame fm 94.5, and student at Oxford Institute of Business and Journalism took it upon themselves to do a thorough investigation about the situation but was denied with further details.
According to the journalists, the CID of Afasiebon police station, Mr.Isaac Kwame A, was much upset and went further instructing and questioning them to provide the source of their information before he will talk to them whereas the journalist also refused.
“Per the ethics of the Ghana journalist Association, we are not supposed to reveal our source except the court but we don’t understand why the CID refused to interact with us and refused us with further details”, they reiterated.
Speaking to the wife, Sarpong Abigail, the CID said the deceased family should not let us(the media) come with them to the police station tomorrow when the situation is being taken to court for autopsy and other things.
According the deceased father, Mr. Donkor Bossman, he said the police has stated that the family should come to the police station early as 7-8am,tomorrow,26 April,2018. to go to the court for them to sign for an autopsy .
The media vows it role right to be at the scene for any further questions and information on the public notice.
