We are demanding allowance too – CODGH to Government
Concern Drivers Association of Ghana through a press release, have demanded allowances from from the Government for their sacrificial work doing for Ghana.
RELEASE IS AS FOLLOWS
“WE ARE DOING WORK AND PAY FOR GOVERNMENT. WE DEMAND ALLOWANCE TOO ”
It’s really unfortunate for a driver to wake up early in the morning for his work and upon reaching the filling station; fuel price has been increase without any notice. If that same publicity would be given to the 2% the government reduced some few days ago and it has been taken back by the government. I think it would have been better. When you reduce 2% u made publicity but when you increase then nothing is heard about it.
And a driver has to pay more for the same liters of fuel he buys for his daily work. Just because the government does not really care about how we feel and how we take care of our selves and family.
Each time there’s an increase in fuel prices there’s a reason given by the government that promised to reduce fuel prices to justify why the increase. If is not the cedi’s depreciating then is the duel price at the world market. If the price of fuel at the word market comes down then we are told is the dollar that is going up. Why all this explanations that does not hold water.
The fact of the matter is that, drivers we are suffering and this government is being insensitive to us. We are tired of the to and fro explanations. Why reduce 2% and later take it back. This is not what we expect from you. Why should we drivers be the ones to suffer or be the financiers of everything the government touches?
If money is needed for free SHS – fuel price increased
If money is needed for nursing or teachers trainee demonstrating on allowance – fuel increase
To pay salaries – fuel increase
You can go on and on. We ask, when are we drivers going to get allowances. Meanwhile we sell our fuel in the world market and a lot of money comes into this country. Enough is enough. We are sending notice to the government to abide by the promises they made to drivers that made us vote for them to power and stop being wicked to us. For drivers are suffering.
Thank you.
