SUHUM MUSLIM COMMUNITIES SHOW APPRECIATION TO THE MCE
The Leadership and Representatives of Muslims in the Municipality led by Chief Adamu Issah (aka kongoro) yesterday 18th July, paid a courtesy call to the Suhum Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Margaret Darko Darkwah at her office. Their visit was to express their profound gratitude to the Assembly and the Hon MCE for their immense support extended to the Zongo Communities since the Hon MCE was sworn into office. According to them, the Suhum Municipal Assembly under the leadership of Mrs Margaret Darko Darkwah has really done what Napoleon couldn’t do. The donation of food items during the Ramadan Mubarak was described as an unprecedented gesture in the history of their time.
Their appreciation was extended to the humanitarian nature of the Hon MCE. Her urgent tackling of problems in the Municipality was commended. The Suhum river which over the years has been flooding during rainy season and destroying lives and properties in the Zongo has become a thing of the past in this Administration.
Her open doors for all caliber of persons irrespective of tribe, belief, political and gender, the visitors appreciated. They acknowledged the Hon MCE’s role she plays in making sure Muslims get their fair share of the national cake. According to them it is only under her administration that Muslims have representative at the Assembly, a clear indication of her being a Replica of the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo and the NPP government.
The Chairman of the Muslim Chiefs in the Municipality, Chief Adamu did not mince words when he described the Hon MCE as developmentally oriented personality. He was optimistic that Suhum will work again under the Administration of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo through His Representative, Hon Margaret Darko Darkwah.
With a receiving gesture, the Hon MCE also expressed her enthusiasm to have such dignified Muslim personalities in her office to grease her elbows for the good work done so far by her administration. “All praises and adoration goes to Allah and the strong backing of the people of Suhum”. The hon MCE attributed. She also appreciated their visit and related it to the biblical allusion of showing appreciation when due.
Mrs Margaret Darko Darkwah assured that Muslims shall continue to be an integral embodiment of the NPP Government. “Former President Kuffour chose Alhaji Alliu as his Vice President, President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo also chose Dr Bawumia as his running mate who is now the Vice President. It is only the NPP Government which has appointed a Minister to foresee the development of the Zongos. This is a clear distinction between the NPP Government and the rest”. The MCE indicated. She again assured that the Muslim communities under her administration shall never be denied their fair share of the national cake. It could be recalled that four Muslims from Suhum benefited from the Islamic pilgrimage last year, two Muslims benefited from the Citizens Corner, an annual event to honour the aged in our society. These are all indications of a good relationship between the Hon MCE and Muslims in the Municipality.
She therefore admonished Muslims to rally behind His Excellency the President and his Appointees to help develop Ghana. She also assured the visitors that her outfit will continue to foster unity among the Muslims. Her greatest regards was the interpersonal and religious coexistence in the Municipality and entreated them to keep hold to it.
In attendance were the municipal coordinating director Mr James Martey, the deputy Municipal coordinating director, Mr Alliu, the Muslim Imams, Malams and Chiefs and elders of the Muslim Communities.
