MINISTER BREAKS GROUND FOR ONE MILLION PER CONSTITUENCY PROJECT AT AWUTU SENYA EAST
The minister for Special Development Initiative and a member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East constituency, Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson joined by the deputy CEO of the Coastal Development Authority and the Chief Executive Officer of the Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly, Mr Emmanuel Affram Anim and Hon. Michael Essuman Mensah respectively on Monday breaks ground for the construction of over 4000 capacity durbar grounds for the chief’s and people of the Odupong Ofaakor traditional area.
The pomp and pageantry ground breaking ceremony which saw Chiefs and elders from the various towns joined traditional forces to render their support and graced the occasion.
The Chiefs who expressed their gratitude and appreciation thanked the minister, the MCE and the deputy CEO Of the Coastal Development Authority for such a bold approach for bringing an overwhelming development in the area.
The Chiefs also expressed their unflinching support for the construction of the much needed durbar ground which was believed to be completed within a time frame of four months
The minister for Special Development Initiative, also on the same day visited some projects sites including a bridge construction at Yehowa Adom, a suburb of Kasoa that connects the adjoining areas and accesses to various homes within Asempa down.
The project which is a subsidiary of the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Program [IPEP], is implemented by the Coastal Development Authority, an ambient of the ministry for Special Development Initiative.
The sector minister revealed that, the project also forms part of the bottom – up approach from the community needs assessments program under the one (1) million per constituency promised by His excellency the president of the Republic, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo in the run up to the 2016 general elections campaign.
The constituency according to Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson is benefiting from the project under the first phase of the IPEP implementation program, where the ministry is constructing over 1000 solar-powered mechanized boreholes with submissive water pump facilities across the country under the Water For All projects.
She added that, there is also the construction of another 1000 mechanized 10- seater toilets facilities with solar powered mechanized boreholes and a bio digester which is meant to automatically convert the toilet waste to gas for domestic use under the Sanitation For All Program.
The ministry under a development plan has engaged in a lot of projects including, the construction of a multi purpose warehouse facilities with different departments.
Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson also visited the much touted Kasoa poly-clinic where it was discovered that, about 30% of extra works needed to be expedite to ensure its completion, a situation contrary to what was reported in some social media portals that, the facility is 100% complete which need just a commissioning ceremony to move in.
She was surprised to have also discovered that, the theater block and other vital sections need some major transformation to serve it values, adding that, the upper floor of the OPD also need some finishing including tilling and painting.
The Hon. Member of parliament for the area implored his constituents to exercise patience as she’s working around the clock with the Municipal Chief Executive officer, Hon. Michael Essuman Mensah to give them a befitting facility
