NPP COMMUNICATION TEAM FOR AWUTU SENYA EAST REBUTTS ILL COMMENTS MADE BY THE MINORITY LEADER IN PARLIAMENT, HARUNA IDDRISU ABOUT THE MINISTRY OF SPECIAL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE.

The NPP Communication Team for the Awutu Senya East Constituency condemns the ill comments made by the Minority Leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu about the Ministry of Special Development Initiative.

The Minority Leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu stated on the floor of Parliament yesterday that , he did not see the relevance of the Ministry of Special Development Initiative and as a result, the minority will not support the budget allocated to that Ministry.

The Legislator ignorantly claimed that there is a conflicting role between the ministry in question and the Metropolitan Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs).

He again wrongly asserted that the ministry is doing the work that the 3 Development Authorities (i.e. The Coastal, Middle Belt and Northern Development Authorities) are supposed to do.

We the members of the NPP Communication Team in the constituency find his comments very offensive, exhibiting utter ignorance which is quite unfortunate especially coming from his office as a Minority Speaker of the Legislative Arm of Government.

We have heard, watched and read through the print and electronic media in recent times the seemingly unpatriotic attitude displayed by the Minority members of Parliament, who keep making feeble attempts to downplay the importance of the Ministry of Special Development Initiative headed by our able MP , Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson.

We, the members of NPP Communication Team for Awutu Senya East conclude that the attitude of the minority MPs if not addressed appropriately might mislead the majority of Ghanaians who believe in the actual intention for this Ministry and this might unfortunately cause unnecessary distractions and delay in achieving the laudable mandate for the Ministry which is to create a better quality of life for the ordinary Ghanaian.

We. The Awutu Senya East NPP Communicators further see the antics of the minority in Parliament as a slap on the face of the same social justice which happens to be the purported self -acclaimed trademark of their party The NDC.
The posture of the minority leader in Parliament and his team poses the following questions in the minds of well meaning Ghanaians.
How can a ministry which is giving GHC 1m to every constituency in the form of developmental projects be described as irrelevant?

Is it not ironic for the minority leader who is a core beneficial to the Ministry of Special Development

The minority leader was part of appointment committee of Parliament who vetted the Minister and approved the authority of the Ministry so what has changed within two years.

The truth is that the performance of the Minister is shaking the pulse of NDC MPs and have come to a realization that the success of this ministry will keep the NDC party in opposition for many years hence trying to find every foul means to get rid of the Ministry

We would like to advise the minority leader that, it will serve him good to channel his energy to ensure unity in his shambolic party.

Mr. Haruna Iddrisu today has the nerves to talk about the laws of the state in reference to the establishment of the Ministry of Special Development Initiative, forgotten that there were the same laws when he was taking double salary.

We members of NPP COMMUNICATION TEAM will not sit down unconcern for anyone to discredit an important Ministry like the Ministry of Special Development Initiative because the minister and her Ministry are at heart to us.

It will interest Minority in Parliament to know that the following numerous projects have been done by our MP and Minister , Madam Hawa koomson

570 Dams across the three northern region.
Construction of 1000 ultra modern Water Closet with Mechanize Boreholes and Bio- Digester across the country
1000 Community-Based Mechanized Solar Powered Water system across the country
1000 Metric tons Prefabricated Grains Warehouse in some selected constituencies .
Procurement Process for One Ambulance per constituency is far advanced and will be delivered by the middle of 2019 , while the community based assessment needs are also being rolling out
These aforementioned projects give us a strong conviction that the ministry is one of the most important ministries in the history of Ghana .
