YOU HAVE NEGLECTED US IN THE CAMPAING FOR BONO EAST— National Gonjaland Youth organizer

The National Gonjaland Youth Association deputy Organizer Mr. Kwesi Lampo has lambasted the Committee for Bono East for not engaging the people from Kintampo North constituency in the campaign for the proposed Bono East region. He said” you have created a committee and decided to neglect our people. At least you should have selected some people within our territory to be part of committee so that the residents will feel inclusive but you have failed to do so, why.” He asked.

Mr. Kwesi made this comments when addressing some sub chiefs and Bono East Committee members at Babatokumawura’s palace in Babatokuma this morning. He added that ” the creation of a new region should not be influence by any political, religious and tribal activities, so you failed to add our people. You have been neglecting us in many things even when it comes to appointment as if we we’re not part of the district meanwhile we have the men here. He stressed.

In Kintampo municipality, there are three traditional council Bono, MO and Gonja so why is it that you always neglect us when it comes to decision making and other developmental projects.”

The Organizer further stated that the Gonjas are not depending on any tribe from Babatokuma to Benkrum when performing any responsibilities ” from Babatokuma to Benkrom is our land but anytime you want to do something you always try to merge us to other traditional councils, we have our own traditional council be aware.” He questioned.

Mr. Lampo has urdge the committee members to try as much as possible and add some people within their traditional council with the rest of days left in order to get massive support for the proposed Bono East region.

Meanwhile the public Relations Officer for the said committee, Mr. Amoako has debunked the claims made by Mr. Kwesi that the Gonja traditional council was not consulted. He said “we have invited the Babatokumawura to represent the Gonja chiefs, besides the committee was formed in Techiman and so is not our making for not engaging all the people. Kintampo campaign committee was formed by the MCE who directed us to use political parties representatives and that’s exactly what we did.”

Mr Amoako in his submission, pleading on the chiefs and from the Gonjaland traditional council to exercise restrain and support the creation of the proposed Bono East region. According to him, when the region is created it will help to curb the issue of neglection since it may leads the creation of new districts in the municipality.
