I will fix your teeth for you if only you stop telling lies – Wontumi to Otokunor
Attempts by some key members of the opposition National Democratic Congress to associate President Akufo-Addo’s name to any form of electoral malfeasance would fail to live up to expectation, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has said.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party who is mostly referred to as Chairman Wontumi, was reacting to allegations by the NDC that President Akufo-Addo intends manipulating election results to help him win a second term in office in the 2020 general elections.
Key among the people making the allegation is the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Peter Boamah Otukonor.
According to him, “the continuous stay in office or otherwise of President Akufo-Addo will only be determined by the true will of Ghana and not through the manipulation of any election.”
He is on record to have stated that matters that arose during the just ended referendum do not inspire confidence in the current leadership of the Electoral Commission , adding that the Jean Mensa- led administration is a looming disaster with a potential to reverse Ghana’s democratic gains.
But the Ashanti Regional boss of the NPP has classified the “lies” being told by the NDC as a dress rehearsal to foment trouble in 2020 because “they know they would lose miserably”.
Chairman Wontumi warned that “whether the NDC retorts to violence like they have started through Peter Otokunor or preach peace, it is clear the Nana Akufo-Addo would win the 2020 elections.”
He thus appealed to Peter Otokunor to stop peddling lies in 2019 and promised to do him a favor by fixing his teeth for free if he can stay clean by telling only the truth.
“To Peter, I want to advise him to stop telling lies. If he can stay truthful for the first quarter of 2019, I will pay for him to have his teeth fixed”, Chairman Wontumi pledged.
