A 640-lbs man and his 450-lbs wife had a rather unusual accident Tuesday night as the floor of their apartment collapsed during a particularly intense sexual intercourse, causing the couple to fall three stories lower. The police have arrested a 21-year-old taxi driver for his alleged involvement in the murder of a soldier at Community 18, Tema, in January this year. Prices of chop boxes in the Sefwi Yawmatwa Electoral area in the Western region have increased astronomically due to the implementaion of the free senior high school policy. The situation has made if difficult for some parents to afford the chop boxes for the wards who have been placed under the free senior high school policy. Following this, the Assembly Member of the area, Hon. Abass Mohammed, has donated 800 chop boxes to students who have been placed as boarders under the double-track system. He has been commended by parents, beneficiaries and traditional leaders for his kind gesture, which residents say will go a long way to assist parents and students especially to go to school without hindrance. The residents in the area are predominantly cocoa farmers and because the harvest season is not due, majority of them, were unable to buy the chop boxes for their wards. A 16 year old junior high school leaver Daniel Mensah has hanged himself to death at Tarkwa for not getting placement in School due to low performance in the just ended BECE. According to district police commander Tarkwa supt. The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ekumfi Constituency in the Central Region, Francis Ato Cudjoe was nearly mobbed by some irate youth at Ekumfi Eyisam for allegedly failing to fulfil his campaign promises to them. In a video that has gone viral on social media, a group of young men are seen attempting to break into the MP’s V8 vehicle as police officers are also seen calming the situation by preventing the irate youth from getting access to the MP’s vehicle. Some of the angry youth are heard at the background threatening the police officers should they arrest any of them. Others too are heard advising the MP’s driver to move the vehicle from the scene to avoid any damage to it by the angry youth. It is not clear what triggered the anger of the youth. The cocoa farmers of Sefwi Bonsu Nkwanta and it environs in the Juaboso District are now swimming in happiness pool due to premium( bonus) paid to them. The P.B.C Limited in partnership with TOUTON implemented a sustainable project called Climate Smart Cocoa at the Sefwi Bonsu Nkwanta and other places as piloting method to suit to the climatic change in that area. The project invested about 6,500 farmers which involved four districts such as Bonsu Nkwanta A, Bonsu Nkwanta B, Bonsu Nkwanta C and Kofikrom/ Proso. The total production area certified under the project was 34,766.34 hectares. After the sucession of the project, the farmers who were all involved have been paid with a total amount of GH$629,568.00 of which the farmers in that areas are overwhelmed by the faithfulness work done by PBC Limited and TOUTON. The Ghana Education Service says it will adopt innovative means to monitor the performance of students who will be home while their colleagues are in school. Public Relations Officer, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, says the Service is also considering placing phone calls to the students to find out how they are coping and provide assistance where necessary. This would, however, happen after the candidates have successfully gone through the admission process and have been provided with some academic materials, Ms. Twum Ampofo told Super Morning Show host, Daniel Dadzie, Thursday. A prophet who gave his name as Pentecost Ewa Usang has been arrested in Calabar Municipal in Cross River State for defiling an 8-year-old girl. A male second-year Business Administration student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been found dead in his room at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Hostel also known as the Student Representative Council (SRC) Hostel. Confirming the incident to Class91.3FM’s John Essien, KNUST’s University Relations Officer (URO), Kwame Yeboah Junior, said the cause of the student’s death is not immediately known, but added that the school authorities do not suspect “foul play”. The deceased, an affiliate of the University Hall (Katanga) was the first to be given a key to a room which accommodates four people. Other occupants who needed access to the room could not find the key but realised the door to the room had been locked from inside. The lifeless body was found after some students, with the help of campus security, broke the door to the room on Tuesday, 4 September 2018. The body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of the KNUST Hospital, for autopsy.
