He was not exactly enthused with the habitual absenteeism and has urged members to make it a point to always be present for the business of the House. 14 tweets that show Donald Trump’s Russia obsession is only getting worse

While you were out celebrating the unofficial start of summer, President Donald Trump was tweeting. From Friday morning until Tuesday morning, Trump sent out 14 — yes, 14! — tweets focused on the ongoing Russia probe. The tweets — ranging from quotes of supportive voices from Fox News Channel to references to the”13 Angry Democrats” on special counsel Robert Mueller’s team to allegations of election meddling — illustrate Trump’s near-complete obsessions with the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election and its impact on his presidency. What’s remarkable about the tweets — other than the pure number of them — is the similarities between them. Here’s one from Saturday: “This whole Russia Probe is Rigged. Just an excuse as to why the Dems and Crooked Hillary lost the Election and States that haven’t been lost in decades. 13 Angry Democrats, and all Dems if you include the people who worked for Obama for 8 years. #SPYGATE & CONFLICTS OF INTEREST!” And, here’s

Hurricane Maria : 4,645 dead in Puerto Rico

An estimated 4,645 people died in Hurricane Maria and its aftermath in Puerto Rico, according to an academic report published Tuesday in a prestigious medical journal. That figure dwarfs Puerto Rico’s official death toll of 64, which the article’s authors called a”substantial underestimate” of Hurricane Maria’s death toll. “These numbers … underscore the inattention of the US government to the frail infrastructure of Puerto Rico,” authors from Harvard University and other institutions wrote in the New England Journalof Medicine. The official death toll in Puerto Rico has been the subject of substantial controversy since Hurricane Maria hit this island, a US territory, on September 20. CNN and other news outlets have used government statistics and extensive interviews with families of the deceased and funeral home directors to question the Puerto Rican government’s official tally of deaths. Previous estimates suggested Maria contributed to about 1,000 deaths. The team from Harvard

A political science lecturer has warned the National Democratic Congress will jeopardise its chances of winning the 2020 elections should it elect former president John Mahama as its flagbearer. In the analysis of Dr. Osei Bonsu of the Methodist University, nothing has changed from the events and factors that led to the “miserable” defeat of Mahama in the 2016 presidential election for him to make a comeback. Even though Mahama has since losing the election remained tight-lipped over calls by some party members for him to declare to once again run for the party’s flagbearership, he on Saturday responded favourably to the calls.“To you the teeming supporters and sympathizers calling and requesting me to declare my intentions for the future, I wish to assure you today, that as a servant-leader, I have listened to your calls and reflected. “I will not disappoint you even as we await the publication of the party’s guidelines for selecting a new leader,” he indirectly declared to contest
